Google Earth

Explore the world from your phone

Google Earth is a globe and mapping app for viewing places through satellite imagery, 3D terrain, 3D buildings, and ground-level Street View imagery. It suits travelers checking an area before a visit, students studying geography, and anyone who wants to look around cities, landmarks, or remote locations without being there in person.

What you can do

• Search for locations and move from a worldwide view down to streets and neighborhoods.
• View landscapes, buildings, and terrain in three dimensions where coverage is available.
• Use Street View for 360-degree views of roads, landmarks, and other mapped places.
• Browse Voyager content for guided stories, tours, and educational material about locations around the world.
• Create and share maps or visual stories for personal, educational, or presentation use.

Good for visual planning and learning

The app is built around imagery rather than long lists or dense map panels. Gestures let you zoom, rotate, and tilt the globe, making it practical for comparing places, understanding the shape of a landscape, or previewing a destination. Its mix of aerial views, 3D scenes, and Street View gives the same location several useful perspectives.
